Dear Mrs.Eyre, We enjoyed our long weekend in Bratislava with your company from October 12th-16th 2006. The weather was fine throughout and the travel arrangments all worked out well. The substituted hotel Marrol`s, was in a quiet side street and our room had excellent facilities. Bratislava has a fine Old Town and we enjoyed walking round its squares and narrow streets. We had an excellent river trip to Vienna, the catamaran berthing near the centre. I should be grateful if you would send me details of the holidays you are arranging for next year. Hello Darina, We had a fantastic time. We had no problems with the car hire, and the white water rafting was great. The instructor and his girlfriend were very friendly. Hotel Avena was superb value for the money. Our room was very big with lots of storage space and had two separate balconies-good because we had lovely views of the mountains from them. The hotel was very clean and more modern than I expected. There was one extremely helpful receptionist who spoke English and went out of her way to help us, I think her name was Andrea, she made everything a lot easier for us. The massage was also very good-and only 150Sk for a 30min massage-very cheap! The swimming pool was a good size for a hotel pool and all the facilities were well maintained. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, a brilliant selection, definitely my favorite meal of the day!. Evening meal was also very good. The location of the hotel was perfect because only 400m away was a large natural thermal swimming pool which we thought was lovely. I`d definitely recommend it and for the price I don`t think you`d find better accommodation - 10/10 ! Thanks so much for your help again Darina, we wouldn`t have had such good time without your help. Dear Darina We are just back from our very interesting and successful weekend in Bratislava. Thank you Darina for organising everything for us so well, and for the help of the charming Marek at the hotel. Thanks to him, we saw eveything we wanted to do and more. The Hotel Marrol`s was just perfect. The NABUCCO Opera was a stunning performance, even better than in Holland Park London. We enjoyed the boat trip and the whole of the old city. Dear Darina, I apologise for the delay in contacting you but I have spent the last week catching up and sleeping! I do not know how you remain so 'bright and breezy' accompanying people on holiday!! We all thought the holiday fantastic. Even the weather did not spoil it for us. Of course we would have preferred the sun the whole time but on the mountain tops we entertained ourselves guessing what the view may have been! The hotels suited everyone. Those who stayed at the Ski thought it was value for money. Comfortable, clean rooms, warm and with plenty of hot water were appreciated by everyone.Several members said that if the hotel had served food 'buffet' style in the morning the hotel would have saved much food. (Hardly a complaint) The Grand was great. Everything we neededwas in our rooms and the food was great. Monica was available when we needed her and she did her utmost to keep communication going. The walking guides were fantastic. The guide we had called Peter who I believed worked in the High Tatras was first class. He led the high level walks. Most days we climbed more than 1,000 metres which certainly tested us day after day! The weather threw everything it had at us including snow,high winds sleet and plenty of rain. However the last day of walking made up for it with fantastic sun and tremendous views.We so enjoyed it. Peter deserved a medal for walking with us. He gaged the pace beautifully and was helpful when required. He said we were his first English 'clients' (David felt a bit of an outcast there!!) and he admired the way we always had a smile on our faces and laughed whatever the circumstances! I took a day off as did many others and we visited the caves - they are truly awe inspiring - well worth the time to visit. Everyone agreed the weekend in Brat particularly since the weather was perfect all weekend. The 5 'oldies' (all over 70yrs) who went to Vienna had a 'hoot' of a time. They engaged a horse drawn carriage to take them around the city. One of the ladies had vast expience with race horses so she drove the carriage whilst the 'driver' concentrated on giving a commentary. He suggested how they could spend the rest of the day so they were VERY impressed! Quite a number took the boat to Devin Castle some coming back by bus and others with the boat. After we had seen our 'charges' onto their respective boats 4 of us, Maggie, Richard David and myself(whom you all know) took the bus to Modra. We had a 3 hour lunch (at least) at Ludvik, copious amounts of wine and relaxed in the sun. I needed that. Janet did her best to look after us. She took us to the new Opera house - quite an expience but couldn't stay with us. The performance was very good Thank you for all your organising both before and during the holiday. You are a star! Hello Darina Regarding my trip to the spa at Piestany i thoroughly enjoyed. It was peaceful and very relaxing, the staff at the spa were very helpful and friendly The treatments were fantastic and i would definitely go again as well as recommend it to friends. communication was not easy this is because the staff at the spa spoke little English. the majority of the guess were of a mature age, i feel maybe make ting should be targeting a wider age range.
